LENT BEGINS

THE OBSERVANCE OF HOLY LENT

In Lent, we are invited to grow in holiness through the spiritual practices of self-examination,
repentance, prayer, study, meditation on the Word of God, fasting, charity, and fellowship.
Please prayerfully consider joining in the opportunities which our church
provides to practice these holy disciplines.

We will be providing “ashes to go” at the Waterfront Metro Station, 4th & M Streets, SW.

ECUMENICAL ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE

Wednesday, February 10 at 7 pm
Service shared with the congregation of Christ United Methodist Church
in the Fellowship Hall
Service of Holy Eucharist with Imposition of Ashes.

EVENING PRAYER & SIMPLE SUPPERS IN LENT

Tuesdays, February 16, 23, and March 1, 8, 15 and 22, 6:30 - 8 PM / Place: TBA, Parishioners Homes
Will you continue in the apostle's teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in the prayers?
This is one of the questions asked of us in our Baptismal Covenant.
What better way to live out our response, “I will, with God’s help”, than by joining together
for Evening Prayer, followed by a simple fellowship supper of soup
and home-made bread in each others’ homes.
